True Prophecy And False Prophecy

PROPHECY

True prophecy is human communication initiated by the one true God (2Pet 1:21), for the purpose of expressing His immediate heart, mind, and will upon the earth to people (Am 3:7). 2Peter 1:21 is the perfect scripture expressing this definition. Some noticeable characteristics of true prophecy are unusual relevance, penetrating perceptiveness, perfect timeliness, emotional impact, felt authority, and harmony with God's attributes. True prophecy means two very different things in the Old Testament and New. This difference is fully explained in the OT & NT PROPHECY page.

False prophecy is human communication initiated by Satan and demons, done so in a malicious attempt to draw people away from the one true God (Jer 23:13, Mt 7:15). Because I've devoted an entire page to false prophecy, I will not go into anymore detail here. Like true prophecy though, its false counterpart means two different things in the Old Testament and New.

Neutral prophecy is human communication that is neither divine nor satanic, but nonetheless possesses highly compelling and inspirational qualities (Ac 12:21-23, Tit 1:12). We see neutral prophecy in Titus 1:12, where Paul quotes one of the "prophets" from Crete. He is referring to Epimenides, a Cretan poet and orator who lived around 600BC. In first century Greek culture, it was common to refer to poets and orators as "prophets", since their communication ability was so awesome. Many believed they were supernaturally-inspired, while some simply recognized their ability and called them "prophets" loosely in honor of that ability. Public heralds or proclaimers were governmental messengers authorized to make announcements to the public; they also were referred to generically as "prophets". Even today some refer to social reformers, powerful communicators, or inspiring visionaries as "prophets". Scripture is more concerned with the true and false brand.

Do We Truly Understand Love

When is Love not really Love?

Some people love someone for who they are, and some because of what they get from the relationship.

The Charismatic church is known for its worship and the presence of God among other things. However, God said to me about the current Charismatic movement, “their hearts are far from me!” How can this be I asked? It’s because most people that are in the Charismatic movement come for what God can do for them, not what they can do for God.

Love is an action, not a feeling. Love is when you are willing to sacrifice your needs and desires for someone else. It’s not that Charismatic Christians don’t love Jesus; it’s that the feelings are more important than taking up the cross (Luke 14:27).

The “love” that is expressed in worship is real. The presence of God is real. The Holy Spirit really does show up and touch people. However, there is more to being a disciple of Jesus than great worship.

So, when you love someone, how do you treat them? Do you ignore their wishes or treat them with deference and respect. Do you ignore their commands when they are too hard, or obey even though it costs you everything?

The words stand, they are alive, spirit breathed and ordained. When God spoke them, when the revelation was shown, the Lord spoke them forth to the exact minute and second that by His Will, according to His plans and His purposes that they would come to pass and be fulfilled.

Nothing will change them, and to attempt to change them is foolishness before God.
His Will, will be done.

Be Watchful, See The Seasons

I'm sure that many of you watched the recent debate. I personally thought that both candidates did a excellent job. Personally, I felt that Obama brought more to the table, so to speak. However I have no favorite, or desire to vote.

I would like to encourage each of you to be praying for our country, and the next president of our country. With the recent financial crisis, the Iraq war, and other situations around the world. The next president will have a huge responsibility to lead this country out of it's current 8 year spiral which seems to have no end.

There are many prophetic ministries out there that believe all is well. I do know one thing, God is in control, the word of God is a sure word of prophecy and the prophetic time clock is still ticking. That none of God's words, or the prophecies written in the word of God will fall to the ground and that which God has spoken through his prophets as written in scripture will come to pass on that exact day, hour and minute that God determines.

Chickens Don't Swim

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road
Actually there were two chickens. The first chicken crossed the road because he thought it was there to be crossed. The second chicken followed the first chicken, because the first chicken liked to be followed.

Then when both the chickens got to the other side of the road, the other side of
the road was a mirror imagine of this side of the road and offered nothing of value.

However the first chicken (set in his old ways) continued going forward and fell into a shallow ditch. The second chicken turned around and realized that the road had become a flowing river and also realized that he was a duck.

So the duck jumped into the river and went with the rivers flow. Then as the duck flowed with the river, other ducks jumped into the river and they all ended up in a huge lake filled with an abundance of water.

Then all the ducks quacked, and quacked and splashed and splashed and the lake was filled with joy.

Then the second chicken who realized that he was a duck wondered where the first chicken was, and then all the ducks prayed and prayed and the first chicken climbed out of the shallow hole, jumped into the river and ended up in the huge lake and all the duckies lived happily everafter.

The moral of the story is, that sometimes it takes a duck to show the chicken the way.

Quack, Quack!

Prophetic Encounters

In a world where almost anything goes. The supernatural takes on many forms and many forms that are not from God, or that lead to eternal salvation. However within the functioning of the Kingdom of God, there is a supernatural that is of God and from God. The Prophetic Ministry.

You see God is not some make believe creation of mankind that lives in some distant galaxy. God is the creator of all things, the creator of the universe, and the creator of mankind.

Now when you ponder that reality to include the entire creation and the space that it was created in. The reality of God becomes beyond what man's mind can even begin to fathom.

And within this to assume, and come into agreement that God cannot speak to His creation is so far out of touch with who God is, that it's simply ridiculous.

For which is easier. To create the entire universe and the space it is harnessed within, or speak to men that were created by the Master Creator. We must all come out of the box.

John Paul Jackson

Over this past weekend. John Paul Jackson of Streams Ministries ministered at a conference at our church. I didn't attend Friday nights session, however did attend Saturday and Sundays sessions.

Over the years I have heard many wonderful things about this man, his ministry and viewed his ministry web site may times.

I would just like to share that from a personal perspective. I found John Paul Jackson to be a very warm, loving, compassionate and kind man with a heart for God, His bride and that others would be blessed. His teachings were wonderful, uplifting and very humble.
